Long a home to the Jenner Hawk Watch, the Jenner Hawk Overlook is the spot to view the fall migration of raptors as they soar along the hillside updrafts along the Sonoma Coast. For several years, volunteers have come out each fall to record the appearance of these birds of prey. Organizer of the Hawk Watch, our enthusiastic Certified Naturalist Larry Broderick will introduce you to bird spotting and identification on location. Get ready to be infused with his knowledge and love of our fine feathered friends!

About the Jenner Headlands Preserve

Located north of the town of Jenner where the Russian River meets the Pacific Ocean, and extending two-and-a-half miles along Highway 1 and inland toward Cazadero, this 5,630-acre coastal treasure has it all -- rich habitat for fish and wildlife, dramatic views, extensive opportunities for future recreation and a spectacular segment of the California Coastal Trail. Acquired by Sonoma Land Trust in 2009, it was transferred as planned to The Wildlands Conservancy in 2013 with full public access slated for spring 2018.
